About our Vice President

Our Sr. Vice President has been involved with staffing engineering teams since 1978. He started his career with one of the largest engineering and construction companies in Houston as a corporate recruiter hiring engineers for positions around the world. After several years, he left the corporate world to work on the agency side during the oil boom in the early 1980s, placing chemical and petroleum engineers.

In 1983, he started placing systems analyst and programmers for clients in the Houston area. In the mid-1980s he was involved with executive level search on retained basis for companies throughout the United States. He started placing software development engineers in the client server arena in the late 1980s in the Austin area. He then became directly involved with staffing one of largest software development/contract programming companies in Austin. As branch manager for this company, he was responsible for staffing contract programmers in Austin, Dallas, Houston, and Atlanta. During this time, he staffed several new client server object-oriented development teams on a retained basis, successfully staffing these teams in a timely cost-effective manner.

In 1993, he became Vice President at NHRG, responsible for client development and recruiting. Under his guidance, NHRG helped staff several successful start-up companies in Austin, including Tivoli, Pervasive, Agere, and Vignette. In 1996, MCI/WorldCom brought him in as a Senior Technical Staffing Consultant to coordinate their IS/IT recruiting with objective of hiring 300 people for 50 different manager in Tulsa, Oklahoma.  This staffing goal was met, and, as a result, NHRG placed more IT/IS professionals at MCI/WorldCom than any other vendor for three years running. He was responsible for putting a recruiting and screening process in place that enabled MCIWorldcom to meet its IT staffing needs.

Over the years, he has worked with several human resource and engineering departments to realign internal salaries in order to encompass new technology professionals who typically will have higher salaries than employees on staff. In 1998, he was retained by AB Watley to staff their new development team that would be responsible for the development of their web-enabled day trading systems. NHRG's interview to hire ratio was 2:1, and there has been a 90% retention factor of personnel placed at AB Watley.
